Then it suddenly felt like winter.
It was summer, but the A/C was maxed…
The sky was a lucid watercolor blend of soft baby blue
and varicose vein violet.
The pines briefly turned to aspens; their bark curled
to sneer at the blistering heat.
Pollen-dusted grass blades swirled across the windshield
as the crisp blizzard gusts leaned on the drifts; insisting they were
snow.
But they were only grass blades and pine trees…transplanted
by the humid summer sea breeze.
