My nephew Garrett (pictured below) has Cystic Fibrosis. You can find out all about the disease at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s website.
I’m not usually one to come knocking on doors looking for money, but I believe that this is a great cause. My sister started a team for a GreatStrides event occurring here in town on May 17th.
Please help by sponsoring me or my sister in this walk. Either way my nephew and other people afflicted with this disease get one step closer to not being afflicted. That’s not empty rhetoric either. My nephew has been lucky enough to witness great improvements to treatment options just in the past 5 years that weren’t previously available. The phrase “Great Strides” isn’t just a feel-good moniker. I really believe based on what has been accomplished in treating CF in the past decade or so that a cure is within my nephew’s lifetime.
